Babies, Babies, Babies
Yes, Marisa Eve Myron has arrived!! Fashionably late, she joined the Myron family at 5:47am on March 3rd, 2004. She weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces and is 21 inches long. She has lots of dark hair, presumably blue eyes (they look just like Matthew's did when he was born), a big dimple in her left cheek, and a gorgeous olive complexion. It was a fast and furious labor and delivery. After weeks of false labor, I awoke with contractions at 1:46am, got to the hospital and was admitted at 3:30am with contractions 1-2 minutes apart. I was administered a walking epidural and pushed for 15 minutes when she was born 2 hours and fifteen minutes later!! As you may or may not have heard, she had to spend 7-8 hours in NICU for observation due to fluid in her lungs, but Daddy and Grandpa kept her company until she joined us in our recovery room. Speaking of recovery, this time around has been much rougher than with Matthew, though her pretty face and great sleeping habits make up for the numerous aches and pains. We ALL ventured out of the house to the kids' pedatrician today, and we made there and back alive! Marisa has gained back the weight she lost in the hospital (she was down to 8.02 lbs. when we were discharged) and is doing great otherwise, and Matthew was relieved that Dr. Booker was NOT paying attention to him. Otherwise, we have been spending lots of time at home experiencing the transition of a new addition to the family, and even got out for a walk to the neighborhood park to get some fresh air. Okay, enough chit chat, here are some pictures of our little sweetheart and her adorable big brother...ENJOY!
Welcome to the World, Marisa!!! Minutes after she was born....

Fall 2003 at the Myron household….
Hi everybody!! The Myrons have been busier than ever these days, but we wanted to take some time to catch you all up on the fabulous things going on in our lives. I will start with most exciting info first…we are expecting a *little girl* the first week of March 2004! Yep, Matthew is going to have a little sister, and you all are going to have a niece, granddaughter, great niece, etc…. We went for our ultrasound on Thursday, October 16th, 2003 at 11:30am and saw our daughter on the big screen (well, Gabe had to squint since he is used to a much bigger screen these days, HAHAHA). We saw all 10 fingers and 10 toes, her little beating heart (and all 4 chambers for that matter) and got to hear her heartbeat as we watched it. It was truly an incredible experience. Here are a few of the pictures* (to the left) we received as a souvenir to gaze at until we get to meet her in person…
*for those that have trouble understanding the first two pictures, her head is facing up to the left of the pic , her spine is along the bottom, and her legs are over her head (greeeeeat!!!) the last pic is of her lil foot!*
To answer your question…no, we don't have any names picked out yet, BUT when we do, we are going to do our best to NOT to reveal it until she is born…something has to be a surprise, right??
Here is another photo of her before we knew the sex at 10 weeks into the pregnancy(taken on 8/27/03 when the doc couldn't find the heartbeat right away)..she is facing the front, her head to the left, her body is to the right.
So that is the big news…now on to the rest of the fabulousness…Matthew!! Our little monkey just keeps getting better and better everyday. We never could have imagined how much joy, humor and love this little guy would bring into our lives, and we talk about how incredible he is every night after he goes to bed. He is walking, running, jumping, climbing, stomping, spinning, dancing, clapping, talking, feeding himself, and making us laugh with his devilish smile and that adorable twinkle in his eye. Our hearts swell with love for our little guy, and we just know he is going to make a wonderful big brother :).
He has been busy with a full schedule too. That schedule includes watching the Bears with his daddy….
…and picking pumpkins at a local farm. Well, he really was having more fun *rock* picking, but he found the big pumpkins to be an interesting challenge…
Look at how hard he is concentrating on trying to take the pumpkin from his daddy…this boy IS freakishly strong, but not that strong….yet!
…he also LOVES his new hat, though with his mouth FULL of raisins in this picture, it was hard to get a smile outta him!
Finally, we went to the Opening of Soldier Field on September 29th, 2003 for the Monday night football game against the Green Bay Packers. We flew out MOnday morning and flew home Tuesday morning, and had an *incredible* time while we were there!!! We ended up staying in the same hotel as the players (the coach was staying on our floor according ot the front desk)...not only that, but they were also holding an Alumni Party for all the former Bears...including the '85 team!!! I got a whole hat full of signatures, shook Urlacher's hand and spoke to Walter Payton's wife too! Gabriel was in semi-shock...it may be the quietest I have EVER seen him!!!! All that excitement was BEFORE we even got to the game...so the night just got better and better. The game, although they lost, was a lot of fun too, as was the tailgating party we went to right before the game! I have a bunch of pictures of the new field and such...
That is it for now...we are having a ton of work done on our house in the upcoming months, so we will be sure to post some pictures of the progress:) Hope all is well, and we will be in touch again soon!
Love,
Allison, Gabriel, Matthew, & BabyGirl Myron
Our 1st Myron is on the way.....
Here is our babe's very first picture...it was taken at 6 weeks in utero, pretty cool, huh? I know, it doesn't look like more than just a blob, but it sure is a fun comparison to the ultrasound pictures taken at 20 weeks......
I am sure you are wondering what you just saw :) Basically, it is the fetal pole and yolk sac of the young Myron....I would go into more detail if I thought you were interested, but I am guessing you aren't so I will just leave it at that and move on.
We were able to hear the heartbeat at our 10 week appointment (and every appointment since then), such a fast little whoosh, whoosh sound....we are working on putting up a sound clip of the what the baby's heart sounds like now, check back in a week or two for that ;)
Here is my belly at 19 weeks along...we didn't take any really baby pictures up until this point, because, quite honestly, there wasn't much to see until the last week or so! My belly has popped out quite a bit over the last 2 weeks and the Daddy seems to think that now it is growing everyday! Mommy knows one thing for sure, she can feel kicks and jabs almost everyday now! (movement started that Daddy could feel about 3 or 4 weeks ago when we felt the first real poke on the outside!!!) I actually felt the VERY first movements around weeks 12- 14, which felt like little bubbles popping, or butterflies...what a unique, fun feeling!
Hang in there, the pictures are going to start getting more exciting!!!!! So here I am at 20 weeks and we just got a new digital camera so we are playing with it :) My belly button is starting to pop out a little bit, looks like somewhat of an alien growing in the middle of my belly! (they are other words I would use to describe it, but I'll keep this PG-rated). We continue to be amazed at how the belly is growing, and how hungry I still am!! At this point we are really looking forward to going to our next baby appointment for the "Level II" ultrasound, where they take all the baby's measurements and maybe even find out the sex! Stay tuned....
Here we go, the big Level II ultrasound day has come!!!! We hustled off to the office at 8:30am on March 20th, 2002 in hopes of seeing a healthy baby with all ten fingers and toes. Our wishes were met, and we saw a healthy bouncing baby. Gabriel was amazed to see how much it actually moves around in there, while I was not quite as surprised...I have been feeling little kicks and jabs quite frequently these days, especially sitting here at the computer. Anyway, they took measurements of the entire body from head to toe, and all looks perfect!
Here is our little sweet pea waving at the camera! We saw the baby sucking its thumb, kicking and jabbing...it moved the whole time we were watching...which was for about half an hour. Here you can see the little hand to the left up in the air and obviously the head is on the right...this little pumpkinhead seems to have quite a big nose already, but maybe they will grow into it :)
OK.....now for the exciting part....IT'S A BOY!!!!!!! To be perfectly honest, we are not sure what direction this picture was taken from, but we can tell you this much....this picture shows the baby's two legs, wide open, and the evidence of the clearly in the middle where that little line is that the technician drew in. In fact, when she was doing the measurements of the legs, it was clear as day that we are definitely having a HE. Daddy did a little cheer in the room when they told us, and I have to say, I am pretty thrilled myself. I guess I had secretly hoping for a boy first, because my heart skipped a beat and I was beaming with pride when she told us.
So that is all the news for now...we will continue to take belly shots and post them here, along with any new developments as they occur. Now, LET THE SHOPPING BEGIN...we are off to go buy our first son some blue outfits!
From this point on, please see the Baby Myron page for pictures and updates :)
Allison's 25th Birthday Party
(a poem by my brother)
To My sister Allison
Who has never known quite when
To end an argument
Or learn from punishment
Who once led her own rebellion
But never crossed the line to felon.
This is for my sister Allison
We thought we lost her for awhile
Now she's back to make us smile
Few years back she put us through a trial
But now she's home again to push our dials.
This is for my sister Allison
Who loves to bathe in the sun
And she is always having her own fun.
She has the power to make you frown,
But just as easily
And quite feasibly
Can bring your spirit up from down.
This is for my sister Allison
She recently changed her old surname
But I guess we love her just the same
Even though she loves to be a pain.
Yes, I guess we do
That is, adore you
My dear old sister Allison.
Happy Birthday!
Love - Jay

Announcing Mr. & Mrs. Gabriel Myron...
on
June 9th, 2000
Our religious ceremony was on Friday evening, June 9th, 2000 at St. Peter's Prep Chapel on Grand Street in downtown Jersey City held by Father Azzarto. It was a beautiful sunny day and things went better than we could have ever imagined. The procession song was Pachbel's Canon in D, the organ player, Kevin, and a family friend provided the additional necessary music of the ceremony.
Father Azzarto gave a beautiful ceremony of prayer & thoughts, including Tom Santiago & Elisabeth Nalle sharing readings, we exchanged rings, light the unity candle together, and kissed! Tom Santiago, Gabriel's best man, and long time best friend, joined John Antanies, Michael Schoepp, and Gabriel's brother-in-law Jay making up the groomsmen.
Allison's sister-in-law, and maid of honor, Elisabeth, along with her sister Marie, and Allison's two friends Megan Williams (Massachusetts) and Suzanne Derringer *soon to be Garrett* (Maryland) made up Allison's bridal party. The girls begged for simple, so they wore casual wintergreen linen dresses. Meanwhile, the men knew what they had coming to them, and accepted their fate handsomely in tuxedos. The theme/flowers of the wedding were daisies, from the bouquet to the invitations. The colors were wintergreen and white, the food was buffet, the music was a DJ, and the mood was CELEBRATE!
And here are the captured moments of the reception...
